Fee Schedule
Initial Billing
For swimmers starting with LAMVAC for the first time, the club automatically bills for the full month of registration. If you do not intend your swimmer to start until the beginning of the upcoming month, please notify the club at [email protected].
Fee and Service Details
Fees are due no later than the first of the month or 10th day of the quarter. The club automatically charges accounts for those who requested this during the online registration process, and the club sends out bills to those who did not.
Advancing to new team level
- If your swimmer is promoted mid-month, LAMVAC will bill you the new amount at the beginning of the following month.
- If your swimmer is promoted mid-quarter, LAMVAC will bill you for subsequent months in the quarter at the new quarterly rate.
Annual dues/membership fee
Regular dues do not cover all of the club’s expenses. The annual member fee does not apply to Tadpoles, Masters or swimmers in the High School Training and Summer Programs. LAMVAC charges this fee at the beginning of the swim year (September/October) or when you first register.
USA Swimming/U.S. Masters registration
LAMVAC Masters swimmers should register themselves with U.S. Masters Swimming.
All other swimmers in LAMVAC must be registered with the USA Swimming Association annually. The LAMVAC treasurer will do this and bill the swimmers' accounts for the USA Swimming fee. USA Swimming registration covers the club’s liability insurance at swim meets and practices. Current members are charged for the USA Swimming fee in October; new members are charged during the LAMVAC online registration. These fees are nonrefundable and are not included in the monthly and quarterly fees. USA Swimming current fees can be found at the website for Pacific Swimming, LAMVAC's local USA swimming association.
A swimmer with current USA Swimming registration transfers from another USA Swimming team must submit a transfer form to the treasurer. Please note that USA Swimming rules state that a swimmer may not represent a USA Swimming club in a meet for a new team until 120 consecutive days pass without the swimmer having represented his or her prior club in competition. See the USA Swimming website for full details.
Late payments
Quarterly payments revert to monthly payments, if your payment is not received by the 10th day of the quarter. For payments not received by the 15th day of the month/quarter, the club adds a finance charge of $10 to your statement, which you will receive by email or regular mail. If you fall behind by more than 90 days, LAMVAC will send your account balance to a collection agency, which can affect your credit rating. Please pay promptly to avoid finance charges and collections.
Failure to pay monthly dues for more than two months will lead to a suspension of membership. If this happens, the swimmer(s) may not attend practice until payment is current.
Swimathon (Required)
Twice a year LAMVAC hosts a Swimathon, with swimming taking place at both Eagle Park Pool and Foothill College Pool. Each year, the club expects each Piranha, Tiger Shark, Junior and Senior swimmer to get pledges and for each family to raise at least $150 each to help LAMVAC cover its operating expenses for the year. This is a tax-deductible donation (Tax ID No. 94-2676096).
Required family service hours
If your family has more than one LAMVAC swimmer, your service-hour requirement is based on the swimmer at the most advanced team level. For instance, if your oldest child is a Tiger Shark, you will be responsible for 20 service hours per season, no matter how many siblings are swimming at lower levels. You are not expected to perform 20 service hours for each swimmer.
Visit the Family Service section of the LAMVAC website for further Family Service information.
Financial assistance
LAMVAC does offer assistance for swimmers at Piranha, Tiger Shark, Junior and Senior team levels. Please submit a financial assistance application to the membership coordinators at [email protected].
